Week 7 Term 4
Nightcliff Primary School Newsletter
It’s Balnba (Rainy) Season for Gulumoerrgin (Larrakia) country. The start of the wet season brings on fruiting of Moerrma (Black Plum).
Welcome to week 7. This year has flown. I will be on leave from the 23rd of November and Haydon Staines will be the Acting Principal. I will be back to start the new year on 22nd January 2023, and the front office will be open for queries and uniform purchases from 16th January 2023.
Mobile Phone Policy update
This week, communications will be coming out to families regarding the new mobile phone policy effective from Term 1, 2023. A copy will be placed on the school website as well under policies.
Canteen 2023
A new contractor has been secured for 2023. The current Quickcliq account will close at the end of Term 4 for online ordering, and we will advise prior to Term 1 via the school website of the new Quickcliq details, with counter sales also available with cash.
Year 6 Graduation and Farewell
I will unfortunately miss the Year 6 graduation, but I will send my best wishes at their graduation and wish them all the best for their Middle School years. We seek a final message of support from our Year 6 students and will post this on the student noticeboard. Don’t forget our final farewell on the 15th of December from 2 pm, where the Year 6 students will present a final dance and all students farewell them with the tunnel out to the front of the school.
Events
This Friday is Colour Fun Run. Thank you to all students and families who have supported this fundraiser for much needed reading resources. Parents and carers are welcome to watch only. Please sign in at the front office for safety purposes.
Music assembly has been moved to Wednesday Week 10, 14th December, 9:10- 9:30 am T-2 and 9:30-10:10 Years 3-6.
Classing
If you are leaving or have siblings enrolling, please let the front office know, as we are starting to construct classes this week. Please also update your contact details if they have changed for emergencies.
Thank you
A big thank you to our fabulous School Council, who have had a very productive year with much work achieved.
I also would like to thank and wish Mr Staines a fantastic time at Malak Primary, and I’m sure we will see him around.
Have a safe and happy holiday with your families. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with our students, in particular, student voice and the NT Learning Commissioners and SRC with Mr Staines this year, and look forward to seeing all of them in 2023.
