Week 7 Term 3
Nightcliff Primary School
It’s Darlirrgang Season for Gulumoerrgin (Larrakia) country. September brings the winds for the beginning of build-up and the season when freshwater mangrove (Barringtonia acutangula) fruit signifies it is time to hunt Gakkingga (Magpie Goose). It is a time of feasting on the floodplains in the tropical north.

Food
A reminder that many students are turning up without recess at present. Please pack a hearty lunchbox (e.g. two sandwiches) as we currently have no canteen. Online ordering is available on the school website until 9am daily by Wixsted Catering who delivers to our school at 12:45 daily.
Pokemon Trading Cards
We have spoken to students at the assembly last week about the safe use of these cards as some younger students in Transition and Year 1 have been encountering issues with older students misinforming them. We have asked that Years T-2 trade amongst themselves and Years 3-6 likewise. If this does not alleviate the issues then we will move to a fixed Trading Day such as Fridays only.
Three-way conferences
Three-way conferences are now open for booking (see flyer). If you are unable to book in for the allocated Tuesday afternoon/evening, 13th of September, please organise a time with your classroom teacher via email, for an appointment after school before 3:15pm between now and the end of term. Teacher emails are located on the website.
NT Music School
Please be reminded that the band will be performing in front of the Darwin Entertainment Centre in the forecourt Wednesday 7th September as part of the Beat Festival.
Have a great week.
