Week 1 Term 3
Nightcliff Primary School
Hi everyone
Welcome back to Term 3.
On Tuesday morning, we had many happy students in the yard who were very excited to catch up with their friends and to be back to school. We have also had outdoor musical instruments installed over the holidays in the oval playground, which is in honour of Mr Graham Chadwick, Principal 2013-2020, who has now retired but instilled a great love of music (particularly drumming) in students at our school and as Principal of the NT Music School prior.
Please be reminded to keep safe and continue hygiene practices as per our new normal. We are experiencing a high volume of staff sick with Covid at present, and whilst student numbers are very minimal, we are aware that there is an increase in cases at present in the NT. Your child is likely to have a relief teacher or split class as we go through this current wave. We have air purifiers installed at the school now in classroom blocks and will continue to encourage outside fresh air play where possible across the day, particularly during the Dry season.
Teachers attended a professional learning day on Monday at Nightcliff Middle School to complete our Nightcliff Education Network Berry Street Educational Model set of 4 modules. Teachers also receive a planning day at the beginning of each term to support ongoing professional development as a part of our strategic school improvement plan.
Home readers will go home this Thursday morning. Thank you to the parent/carer helpers who continue to support this program. If you would like to volunteer at the school, please contact the front office at nightcliff.ps@education.nt.gov.au.
